Five Seven 5.7 MRD

The FN Five-seveN MRD (Miniature Red Dot) is the optics-ready variant of FN's iconic 5.7x28mm pistol, a platform originally developed alongside the P90 personal defense weapon for NATO special operations forces. Chambered in 5.7x28mm, the Five-seveN fires a high-velocity, bottlenecked centerfire cartridge from a 4.8-inch chrome-lined, cold hammer-forged barrel, delivering exceptional muzzle velocity and a notably flat trajectory compared to conventional pistol cartridges. The action is a delayed-blowback, single-action design with a consistent trigger pull and a slide-lock-open feature on the last round. The Five-seveN's magazine capacity is generous for its class.

The MRD variant features FN's proprietary optics mounting system: a series of adapter plates allows direct mounting of most major miniature red dot sights without the need for a separate riser, keeping the optic co-witnessed or close to it. The polymer frame integrates a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail and an ambidextrous manual safety with a reversible magazine release. At 25.2 ounces without magazine and 8.2 inches overall, the Five-seveN MRD is a full-size pistol that handles and balances exceptionally well.
